Own deposit of high-density amphibolite. The foundation of all our CE-certified aggregate production.
The Lamas-Rapadoiro Quarry is our extraction site in San Sadurniño (A Coruña, Spain). This is where we obtain the high-density amphibolite we use to produce armourstone and aggregates for demanding offshore marine works: wind farms, submarine cables and infrastructure protection.
Amphibolite is a dense, hard metamorphic rock especially valued for marine applications because of its real density above 3.10 T/m³ — well above conventional granitic stone (≈2.65 T/m³). This property makes it ideal when the rock needs to stay in place on the seabed under current and wave loading.
Metamorphic rock formed mainly by amphibole (hornblende) and plagioclase. Its mineralogy and compaction give it a density and toughness well above common aggregates.
Municipality of San Sadurniño, in the north of A Coruña province, on the Atlantic arc. The location supports supply to marine projects across the Cantabrian-Atlantic coast and direct shipping to the Outer Port of Ferrol and other Galician ports.
All production is carried out at the quarry using our own equipment: Sandvik primary jaw crushing, scalping, tracked excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dumpers from Volvo and Komatsu. This lets us keep full control over traceability and material quality from blasting to shipping.
The System 2+ factory production control (EN 13383-1) guarantees CE-marking compliance for every batch. Notified Body: VERUS no. 2449 (ENAC accredited).
